Mapping your Energy Body

Every one of us knows something about our physical bodies. We have knowledge of where different organs are located and about basic care and hygiene to stay in good health. We also know when to see a doctor when something doesn’t feel right.

Yet, how many of us know about our energy body? Many people may have all heard of the word ‘aura’ but not completely understand what it means or is describing.

For years, western doctors claimed that we had no energy field—that nothing could exist around the human body. They dismissed energy healers as quacks but nowadays it’s not even up for debate if an energy field exists. It is a scientific fact.

This is due to the invention of tools with greater sensitivities and abilities to see things that scientists were previously unable to. For example, the SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) magnetometer can see small bio magnetic fields associated with physiological activities in the body. The energy body is comprised of many different sections. There are the layers of the energy body which are connected to specific chakras, which is an ancient Sanskrit word for the ‘wheel of spinning energy.’ Chakras are spinning wheels of energy located throughout our body, with seven main ones that connect to the different layers of our energy body. In addition, these systems are linked together with meridians, but we won’t get into those today.

  1. Astral body- Heart Chakra

About mid-way through these layers is the astral body, this layer acts as a bridge between the higher spiritual vibrations in the crown and the third eye and the lower denser spiritual vibrations of the physical body. In this body, we create astral cords- connections with other people. This is also where our interaction with other humans take place.

  1. Etheric template/double body – Throat Chakra

In this body, a person’s personality and overall energy are visible. It can vary in color.

  1. Celestial body – Third Eye Chakra

This body offers us access to greater knowledge and wisdom from the universe. It is usually pearly white in color and it is here that we find a connection to the divine and all other beings.

  1. Ketheric template/causal body – Crown Chakra

This is the body that is the furthest away from our physical body and it registers gold in color. It holds information about our soul and past lifetimes.

Each of these chakras and energy layers can become blocked through emotional or physical stress. For example, issues of sexual health are often related to the Sacral Chakra being blocked. A variety of events can lead to a person having such issues, however it can be solved easily through intervening with one’s energy.

In the beginning, we are all in control of our energy body. By giving the energy body the right amount of nourishment through food (i.e. lots of veggies, fruits, and minimal junk food), water, time in nature, and time in contemplation through meditation or other practices for relaxing, we can care for the energy body and therefore our physical body, thus stave off illness.
